WHAT VIOLIN/ FIDDLE SHOULD I BUY?
This is the violin that I use. My parents bought it for me when I was 13 and I've been playing it ever since! It's the best value for money that I've found and I'd recommend it to any intermediate or advanced player. It transitions well between all of the styles I play- celtic, classical, bluegrass, pop- and it's the best thing anyone has ever bought for me!
MY VIOLIN IS UNCOMFORTABLE, WHAT CAN I DO?
One of the best changes I've made to my instrument is to change the chin rest. I have a nickel allergy and almost all chin rests are made from nickel- resulting in a nasty rash on my neck. Changing to this hypoallergenic chin rest was such a game changer for me. Because it weighs less, it made my violin lighter to hold and I found that the slope of the chin rest was much softer. (Chin Rests are very easily removed- simply insert a bobby pin into the hole and un-screw the metal column).
